Rawa laddu is a traditional Maharashtrian sweet. Rava laddu recipe or suji ladoo recipe. A quick sweet recipe that is made with only a few ingredients like semolina, coconut, sugar, nuts and ghee/milk. A beginners recipe and needs no expertise. This ladoo can also be made without coconut, but the addition of dried coconut (copra) adds a very good aroma to the rava ladoo. But fresh coconut or desiccated coconut can also be used. Festival celebrations come alive so today on raksha bandhan i prepared this rawa laddu. This is a popular ladoo prepared almost in every household for all the festivals

  • 1 cup Semolina or rawa, or sooji rawa sooji
  • 1/2 cup Coconut dessicated optional
  • 1/3 cup powdered Jaggery or sugar sugar
  • 3 tbsp Clarified Butter or ghee ghee
  • 1/2 cup Warm Milk
  • 15 Raisins nos kishmish
  • 1-2 Saffron or kesar quantity kesar


  • Heat pan add semolina n ghee roast it continously till rawa change the color in light brown, add coconut n saute for 5 minutes on low flame.
  • Add sugar in it n continuously saute it well.
  • Add milk n raisins saute till the consistency of mixture become sticky switch off flame.
  • Take small portion from mixture n make laddu gently press few saffron when laddu done. make laddu before mixture cool down.
  • Celebrate your raksha bandhan with this rawa laddu
