Katrazhai Neer Moru/ Aloe Vera Buttermilk

Ingredients
- 1 cup Curd
- 2 cup Water
- 1/3 cup Aloe Vera extract, gel
- 2 tbsp Coriander
- ¼ cup cup Mint leaves
- 1 sprig Curry leaves
- 1 Green Chilies
- 1 tsp Ginger
- ¼ tsp Cumin seeds + ¼ teaspoon extra
- 1 tsp Lemon juice
- 1 tsp Oil
- ¼ tsp Mustard seeds
- ¼ tsp Asafetida Hing
- ¼ spoon Black Salt
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Take Aloe Vera, remove the gel from the leaf, cut into pieces and wash it 5 to 6 times to get rid of the bitterness.
- In a blender add curd, Aloe Vera gel, green chilies, coriander, mint leaves, curry leaves, ginger, ¼ teaspoon cumin seeds salt and water. Blend the mixture well and strain it. Then add black salt, lemon juice and adjust the salt if needed.
- For tempering: heat up oil in a small bowl, once the oil is hot, add mustard seeds. When the mustard seeds start crackling, add ¼ teaspoon cumin seeds, Asafetida (Hing) and chopped curry leaves.
- Now pour the tempering on the top of buttermilk, mix it well. Strain the buttermilk for a a smooth texture (optional). Serve it chilled in a glass.
