Yes , sorghum rava with vegetables together forms a nutritious & healthy food which can be consumed for weight-loss.
Unlike the regular biryani, this is a unique biryani for weight-loss as sorghum is a powerhouse of nutrients required for a balanced diet. The taste of the Sorgum ravva biryani is indeed delicious 🙂 . It can be given to kids as well.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Sorghum Rava
  • 1 Potato medium size
  • 1 Onion medium size
  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 cups Water
  • 1 Bay leaf small piece
  • 1 Cloves
  • 2 Green cardamom
  • 1 inch Wailong Marati Mogga, small piece
  • 1 inch Cinnamon
  • 1/2 inch Star anise
  • 1/2 teaspoon Caraway seeds shahi jeera
  • 3 tbsp Butter clarified, ghee

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a pan. Add the spices, slices of onion. Sauté them over medium flame until the onion slices become tender. Now add sliced potatoes. Mix well.
  • Then add three cups of water, salt to taste and finally add sorghum rava. Stir it well to prevent lumps.
  • Cover it with a lid. Allow it to boil on medium flame for 2 minutes. After 2 minutes , low the flame and continue to cook for 10 more minutes until the rava turns soft. Drizzle ghee on top.
  • Once the sorghum biryani is cooked properly , turn off the flame. Transfer it into a serving bowl or plate.
  • Garnish with cucumber slices and serve hot with raita or chutney.

Notes

  • You can add green chilly, any vegetable if you wish.
