  • 1 cubes Yam
  • 1 Tamarind Pulp or lemon lemon sized ball
  • red chili powder as per taste
  • 1/4 tsp Black Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin Powder
  • 1-2 tsp Salt or as per taste
  • 1 tbsp Onions optional sliced
  • Oil for frying


  • Boil 1 glass of water & add salt to it. Wash yam cubes and cook in this water for 10 min
  • Drain water & keep the cubes in stainer to remove leftover water.shallow fry cubes till they are crisp brown coloured.
  • Meanwhile cook tamarind pulp with 1/2 cup of water on medium flame for 5 min. Let it cool. Wash using your hands or run in a blender for a runny smooth paste.
  • In a mixing bowl take shallow fried yam cubes & add tamarind paste black salt, white salt, chilli powder & Cumin powder.mix well.
  • Garnish with sliced onions & serve.

  • You can also serve it with roti & paratha
