Instructions
- Warm up the milk and add in the sugar . Once it is dissolved , sprinkle the yeast over the top and set aside in a warm place .
- Chop up all your leafies to fine texture so that they are easily incorporated into the dough .
- In a large bowl , add the wheat flour along with the leafies and salt and the seeds . Give it all a mix with the oil as well .
- With the addition of yeast milk , mix the flour well with your bare hands . Set it aside in a warm place.
- Once done , start by making portions . This dough makes about 16 - 18 naans .
- On a lightly floured surface , mould each section into an oval shape , It is easier to use hands to give them the right shape without much flour and it does not take up much time either . Just make sure that they are about half an inch thick .
- Do so with all your sections and let them rest for 20 mins in a warm place .
- On a medium flame , apply butter on either side and fry like how you would the rotis .
- Serve hot with some extra butter on the side or a great curry to go with !
Notes
Though naans are popular on everyone’s menu, this is my healthy take on them with the addition of green leafy vegetables to give them an healthy twist. Also i have used whole wheat flour to make them even more healthier. However you can add or substitute any of your favourite leafy veggies in them.
