Pearl Millet Dosa

A healthy gluten free dosa- rich in minerals and proteins. Easy digestible. This pearl millet dosa can be consumed by diabetics, those who wish to to reduce weight.

  • Pearl Millet- 1 cup
  • Black gram- 1.5 cups
  • Rice – 2.5 cups
  • Salt
  • Oil for frying


  • Soak black gram , pearl millet,rice for 3 hours.
  • After three hours,grind it into a smooth paste in a wet grinder. Add water to get a consistency as that of dosa batter.
  • Transfer the above batter into a large vessel. Add salt and mix it well.
  • Heat a cast iron pan or a flat non-stick pan over a medium flame. Smear some oil over it.
  • Spread the dosa batter in a circular way on the pan.
  • Cook the dosa on a medium flame. Sprinkle some oil on top and edges.
  • Cook it till its base becomes golden and crisp.
  • Now turn the dosa carefully and fry the other side also.
  • Once it is cooked evenly, fold it carefully. Transfer it into a serving plate.
  • Serve hot with coconut/avakaya ( mango pickle) .
