Stuffed Pointed Gourd

Pointed gourd is a good source of carbohydrates, vitamin A and vitamin C. It is good for pregnant women and diabetes patients. It also controls blood sugar and cholesterol. Here is a simple Bengali recipe.

Ingredients
- 250 gm pointed gourd
- 2 tbsp fresh coconut
- 2 tbsp mustard seeds
- 2 tbsp poppy seeds
- 2 tbsp white sesame
- 2 tbsp Ginger paste
- 2 tbsp green chilies chopped
- 2 tbsp coconut milk
- 2 teaspoon mustard oil
- Salt to taste

Instructions
- Wash the poined gourd and cut vertically. Take out the flesh from inside and keep separate.
- Now make a paste with coconut, flesh of pointed gourd, mustard seeds, poppy seeds, white sesame, ginger, green chillies and salt
- Heat a pan add 1 tsp oil add chopped green chillies and the paste then sauté. In other side make par boil the pointed gourd.
- Now fill the cooked paste into the boiled pointed gourd and keep aside.
- Now again add 1 tsp mustard oil on the pan sauté the stuffed pointed gourd. Cook for a few minutes and add the remaining paste and cook for a minute.
- Now it is ready to serve. It can serve with steamed rice.
