Pointed gourd which is called Potols in Telugu and Parwal in Hindi is one of the famous veggie in south India. Parwal is very popular and a healthy vegetable n Stuffed vegetable are always liked by all then those made in normal way. today I made this stuffed pointed guard/parwal for dinner
Parwal - 10 nos ( peeled and washed)
Gramflour - 2 tablespoons
Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
Fennel seeds - 1 teaspoon
Coriander seeds - 1 tablespoon
Garlic pods - 5 nos
Salt as per taste
Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
Asafoetida - 1 pinch
Mango powder - 1 tablespoon
Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
Chat masala - 1 teaspoon
Cooking oil - 1/3 cup
Heat pan n roast cumin seeds, fennel seeds, coriander seeds n garlic, Grint it into fine powder.
In same pan roast gramflour till u get the aroma , let cool it on room temperature.
Take mixing bowl n mix all ingredients (roasted gramflour, salt, red chilli powder, asafoetida, mango powder, turmeric powder, 4 tablespoons cooking oil and the powder which we grinded) make a smooth dough. keep mixture little hard not sticky or it w
Make single cut in parwal with the help of knife n deseed. Fill the stuffing in parwal well , keep aside for 10 minutes.
Heat remaining oil on nonstick pan and shallow fry stuffed parwal from all the sides on medium low flame.
Take out in plate n sprinkle chat masala on all over stuffed parwal.
Serve this hot with dal sambar.
U can also made this in curry style.
