Sweet And Sour Dry Dates

Those who are suffering from constipation definitely they will be beneficial. Whether it is dried or fresh it is good for skin and hair. It can be chopped, can be grated or can be paste, in any form it keeps healthy. If you feel it is hard, soak overnight or until soft. You can make any recipe along with other ingredients. I made sweet and sour recipe.

  • 1 cup soaked chopped dates
  • 1/2 cup tamarind paste
  • 1/2 cup grated jaggery
  • 1 teaspoon red powder
  • 1 teaspoon roasted five spices
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 2 whole red chilli
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon ginger powder
  • Salt


  • Chopped the soaked dates.
  • Heat a pan, add oil whole red chilli an mustard seeds. After splitter will give a spicy aroma.
  • Add the chopped dates and stir a few seconds. Add jaggery, red chilli powder, ginger powder and salt. Stir again and add 1/4 cup water then cover with lid for 6-7 minutes.
  • Open the lid see how it's done, then add tamarind paste and roasted five spice powder. Again cover for a minute.
  • Open the lid bring to room temperature. It can be served with any meal.


It can be preserved for a month.
