  • 1 cup Water 250 ml
  • 1 tbsp Honey 5 ml
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice 5 ml


  • Start boiling the water and as soon as water reaches its boiling point switch off the flame.
  • Here is the secret - Let the water become lukewarm as honey or lemon juice should never be put in the hot boiling water.
  • If honey is added to hot water, it is said to become toxic and would do more harm than good. Similarly with lemon, vitamin C of lemon is lost if added in hot water.
  • Hence to make Honey-lemon water/tea, wait till water becomes lukewarm and add honey and lemon. Stir it and consume it immediately.
  • Some people might not be able to digest honey based on their body type (Called Dosha in Ayurveda) so they should replace Honey with jaggery.
