Start your day with Honey-Lemon Water says dietitian, naturopaths, doctors and even Ayurveda. Honey and lemon has properties to detox and throw out the toxins in the body and hence should be consumed empty stomach as the first thing in the morning.
Making Honey -lemon water or honey-lemon herbal tea is easy but there is a trick to it and today we share the same secret.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Water 250 ml
  • 1 tablespoon Honey 5 ml
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice 5 ml

Instructions
 

  • Start boiling the water and as soon as water reaches its boiling point switch off the flame.
  • Here is the secret - Let the water become lukewarm as honey or lemon juice should never be put in the hot boiling water.
  • If honey is added to hot water, it is said to become toxic and would do more harm than good. Similarly with lemon, vitamin C of lemon is lost if added in hot water.
  • Hence to make Honey-lemon water/tea, wait till water becomes lukewarm and add honey and lemon. Stir it and consume it immediately.
  • Some people might not be able to digest honey based on their body type (Called Dosha in Ayurveda) so they should replace Honey with jaggery.
