Green gram Sherbet also known as ‘Hesaru Kaalina Paanaka’ is a summer drink from the udupi cuisine. It is made using soaked green gram, coconut and jaggery. It is highly rich in protein due to the presence of green gram and nutritious with the inclusion of fresh coconut and jaggery.

Ingredients
- 3 tbsp Soaked Green Gram soaked green
- 6 tbsp Coconut grated
- 2 pods Cardamom
- 1/8 tsp Ginger Powder dry
- 1/4 cup powdered Jaggery

Instructions
- Soak 1/8 cup of green gram dal for 5-6 hours until it turns soft.
- In a blender place 3 tablespoon of soaked green gram, coconut, cardamom and jaggery powder.
- Add 2 to 2 ½ cups of water and blend it well.
- Strain this mixture and mix dry ginger powder.
- Transfer it to a serving glass and serve with ice cubes if required.
Recipe Notes
- Jaggery can be increased to ½ cup if you want more sweetness.
