Estonian Kringle is a mouth watering , butter rich , Cinnamon flavored sweet braided bread . Estonian Kringle is one of the oldest traditional recipes which is commonly prepared during Christmas season.Traditionally, APF is used to make this bread. My Kringle Bread is free from Maida and have used honey as one of the main ingredient. Indeed an heajthy wreath bread to relish without any guilt .

Ingredients
For the dough
- 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
- 1/4 tsp Himalayan Pink Salt
- 1 tablespoon Instant dry Yeast
- 1/4 cup Milk Warm
- 4 tablespoon Butter unsalted, soft
- 1 Egg yolk
- 1 tsp Sugar
For the filling
- 1/4 cup Butter soft
- 2 tsp Cinnamon
- 1.5 tsp Powdered Sugar
- 4 tablespoon Honey
- 2 tablespoon Pistachio
- 2 tablespoon Almond powder

Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix yeast, sugar in 2 tablespoons warm milk . Wait till frothy .
- In a wide bowl, take 1 cup whole wheat flour. Add salt . Add one egg yolk. Add 3 tablespoons soft unsalted butter.
- Mix all together until butter, yolk and flour combines well. Pour in the frothy yeast mixture.
- Add warm milk gradually and start kneading to a smooth dough. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes. Add one tablespoon soft butter and grease the entire dough.
- Cover and rest the dough in some warm place for 2 hours or until dough doubles in size. Our proofed dough is ready. Cover and keep for another 5 minutes .
- Let’s prepare the filling . Take 1/4 to 1/2 cup soft unsalted butter . Add cinnamon powder , powdered sugar . Add honey and start mixing to a smooth paste .
- Coming to the dough, transfer the dough to the counter. Knead the dough to let air bubbles escape. Roll the dough into a large rectangular sheet.
- Spread the cinnamon, butter, honey filling evenly on the sheet. Reserve little for greasing.
- Roll the sheet into a log.
- Leave out the head. Start cutting the log from below the head into two equal half.
- Start braiding in opposites. Fold the braid to a wreath joining the ends together.
- Transfer the braided wreath to a parchment lined baking tray. Brush cinnamon honey butter filling on the braided wreath.
- Sprinkle pistachio powder throughout the wreath.
- Place the bread inside a preheated cooker. Preheating time 10 minutes medium to high. Cover and bake for 50 to 55 minutes in medium heat till golden brown .
- Healthy, aromatic Estonian Kringle is ready to serve. Cut and Serve warm. Relish!
