Beans & Coconut Fry

This is a delicious side dish made with beans to be served with ràsam or Sambhar and rice.

  • Beans chopped - 1 cup
  • Grated coconut - 1/4 th cup
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Dry red chillies - 2
  • Sugar - 2 tsp
  • Salt
  • Refined oil


  • Heat a pan with oil. Add the dry red chillies followed by the mustard seeds.
  • Once they splutter, add the chopped beans along with turmeric powder.
  • Saute and cook till the beans are almost done.
  • Then add salt and the sugar. Give it a good Stir.
  • Finally add the grated coconut. Cook for few seconds more and then serve.
