About this Recipe

This is a tasty, spicy, healthy and crispy adai made with Kodo millet, Foxtail millet and Lentils and without using Rice. Hence diabetic people can very well have this. I substituted Varagarisi (Kodo millet) for rice and it came out extraordinarily tasty....

Ingredients & Quantity
  • Varagarisi (Kodo Millet) 1 cup and Thinai (Foxtail Millet) 1 cup
  • Urad dal 1/4 cup, Chana dal 1/4 cup and Thur dal 1/2 cup
  • Ginger a small piece, Green chillies and Red chillies 2 each
  • Onions 2 and Curry Leaves

How to cook?
  1. Wash the millets and lentils well and soak them together for 4 hours in water.
  2. Tasty And Spicy Kodo Millet Adai (varagarisi And Thinai Adai)
  3. Grind them with the salt, chillies, ginger and onions to Fine coarse batter, slightly smoother than regular adai batter.
  4. Add chopped curry leaves now.
  5.  Heat the tawa and make thin dosas applying oil on both sides. Serve with Chutney or Avial.
