Masala Vadai also known as Paruppu Vadai is a South Indian style street food and one of the most popular spiced snacks. It is made with chana dal and some simple basic ingredients easily available in your kitchen.

Ingredients
- Chana Dal - 1 cup
- Sooji - 1 tbsp
- Onion - 1 medium chopped finely
- Green Chilli - 2 chopped finely
- Salt
- Oil for deep frying - 1 cup
- Fennel Seeds - 1 tblsp
- Garlic - 6 cloves

Instructions
- Soak the chana dal and keep aside for atleast 1 hour.
- Coarsely grind the ginger, garlic and fennel seeds without adding water. Keep aside.
- Now take the channa dal and blend it coarsely. Please remember not to make it into a fine paste.
- Heat oil in a frying pan. Take small portion of the mixture and make small ball and then flatten it. Continue the same process with the remaining mixture.
- Drop the Vadas in batches and fry them in medium heat till golden brown.
- Drain and Serve as it is or with any chutney of your choice.
