But that call for consumption of cocoa in a form that is not weighed down with sweeteners, whether natural or artificial. Chocolate pairs quite well with some savoury ingredients too . These Chocolate Matcha Lime foxnuts or Makhanas are the perfect way to include a seving of cocoa in everyday food.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups roasted foxnuts Makhana
  • 1/2 teaspoon Matcha powder
  • Zest from one lemon
  • 2 pinch sea salt
  • For making the chocolate drizzle - 2 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon maple syrup
  • 1- 2 drops of vanilla essence

Instructions
 

  • Heat water in a saucepan. Place a mixing bowl over it without touching the surface of water.
  • Add the olive oil and maple syrup to the bowl. Whisk and combine.
  • Remove the mixing bowl from saucepan and place it on the kitchen counter.
  • Sift in the cocoa powder and mix it till there are no lumps visible.
  • Take the roasted foxnuts in another mixing bowl . Drizzle a few drops of olive oil. Cover with a plate and give it a good shake.
  • Sprinkle matcha, lime zest and salt over the foxnuts. Cover it again using the plate and give it a shake to coat them with the seasoning.
  • Finally drizzle with the chocolate and give a final toss.
  • Transfer to a serving bowl. Sprinkle some more matcha and chocolate drizzle.
  • Serve immediately.
