#bread Sheermal is the common delicacy of awadhi cuisine. Which was influenced by mughlai kitchens.it is a mildly sweet bread served with mutton or spicy pickle.saffron and cardamom gives it a royal and authentic taste and colour.

Ingredients
  

  • All purpose flour 1 cup
  • Sugar 2 table spoon
  • Salt a pinch
  • Ghee 1 tsp
  • Butter 1tbsp
  • Yeast 1 tsp
  • Milk 1 cup
  • Saffron 25 strands
  • Poppy seeds 1tsp
  • Fennel.powder 1/2tsp

Instructions
 

  • Take a bowl add APF ,sugar, salt ,ghee ,butter ,yeast milk and mix nicky to make a soft dough .
  • Cover the bowl with cling foil and allow to rest for 1 hour
  • Devide dough into 2 portion and dust some flour.and roll into a small chapati
  • Transfer sheermal into a baking tin. And prick with fork .
  • Add saffron in 1 tsp warm milk Dissolved it .And apply on sheermal
  • sprinkle poppy seeds and fennel powder on top And allow to proof it for 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Put it in the ore heated oven for 3 to 4 minutes on 200 ℃
  • Place in a serving plate and give a butter wash .
  • Your sheermal is ready to serve

Notes

roll chapati in small size and little thick .Prick it completely.
