Shimla Aloo Ki Sabzi – Capsicum Potato Curry

Shimla mirch aloo is a tasty and healthy vegetable preparation. Shimla Mirch is knowm as capsicum in India. For this recipe you can take green bell peppers or colored bell peppers as per availability. You can serve Shimla mirch aloo ke sabji with roti, paratha or dal rice or with any bread of your choice.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tablespoon Ginger garlic paste
  • 1 medium size onion paste
  • Salt
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 4 capsicum cut into an inch pieces
  • 3 potatoes cut into small pieces
  • 5 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon asaefotida

Instructions
 

  • Mix ingredients (onion, ginger garlic, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder and turmeric powder) make smooth paste by adding little water.
  • In a wok heat oil on medium heat. Add asafoetida. Reduce the heat. When asaedotida change the color. Add prepared paste.
  • Saute masala till oil starts floating on all over masala. Add 1/2 cup water n bring it to boil.
  • Add potatoes n mix it. Cover the lid n cook for 5minutes on low flame.
  • Add capsicum n mix it well. Cover the lid n cook till capsicum n potatoes get soft. Switch off the flame.
  • Serve this shimla mirch aloo ki sabzi with roti, chapati or dal rice.
