Ingredients & Quantity
  • 3 Turnips – peeled, diced into cubes
  • 2 Tomatoes - chopped
  • 1 Onion - Sliced
  • Spinach – 1 Bunch chopped
  • Salt – to taste
  • Red Chilli Powder – to taste
  • Turmeric Powder – ¾ tsp
  • Coriander Powder – ¾ tsp
  • Ginger paste – ½ tsp
  • Garlic paste – 1 tsp (optional)
  • Cumin Seeds – ¾ tsp
  • Green/Red Chillies – 3 Slit
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Cilantro – finely chopped

How to cook?
  1. In a pan, heat oil.
  2. Once the oil is hot, add in the cumin seeds and allow them to sizzle
  3. Add sliced onions and saute it till it changes colour on a medium flame
  4. Add ginger and garlic paste for a minute
  5. Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt and coriander powder. 
  6. Cover and cook for another 2 minutes till done
  7. Add turnips, mix it well and cover it and cook on low flame till it 3/4th done
  8. Add chopped spinach, green/red chillies and cilantro. Mix well, cover it and cook on low flame till it changes the colour or look like roasted and oil gets separated
  9. Serve hot with chapatis or naan
