Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup rice flour
  • 2 tbsp urad dal flour
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp white sesame seeds
  • 20-25 spinach leaves
  • 2-3 green chilli
  • Salt
  • oil for deep frying

Instructions
 

  • clean and remove thick stem of the spinach leaves, wash and keep aside
  • heat water in a wide bowl to blanch spinach leaves
  • bring it to boil and switch off the flame
  • put washed leaves into the hot water and leave for 2-3 minutes
  • then strain it and grind with green chilli using mixer grinder with little water
  • extract the juice from the paste using a strainer and keep aside
  • in a bowl, add rice flour, urad dal flour, sesame seeds and butter
  • mix well with your fingers, it should be like bread crumbs
  • now add spinach juice little by little and knead a medium stiff dough

  • take the murukku maker with attachment
  • grease with oil and fill the dough
  • prepare spiral shaped chaklis by pressing the machine

  • heat oil in a kadai
  • when oil becomes hot, reduce the flame to low
  • add 3-4 chaklis at a time into the oil and fry on low-medium flame till they turm crispy from both sides
  • remove the chaklis from oil and drain on the absorbent paper
  • serve or store in an air tight container after it becomes cool
