About this Recipe

Oo Mugi Healthy and Tasty Barley with lot of vegetables. Barley is easy to cook, nutritious with a mix of veggies ...

Ingredients & Quantity
  • 1 cup Oo Mugi barley, about 250 grams (1 packet)
  • 2 medium sized onion finely chopped
  • Half cup peas/matar, fresh or frozen
  • Half cup chopped french beans, chopped
  • Half cup chopped carrots, chopped into cubes
  • Half cup sliced or chopped mushrooms
  • Half cup chopped capsicum, chopped into cubes
  • 3 tbsp oil or ghee
  • 3-4 medium garlic cloves/lahsun
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds/jeera
  • Salt as per taste
  • Pepper and Garam Masala
  • Butter
How to cook?
  1. Soak the Oo Mugi barley in water for 1-2 hours. drain and keep the Oo Mugi barley rice aside.
  2. Mix Veggie Oo Mugi Healthy And Tasty Barley
  3. Heat 3 tbsp ghee or oil in a pan add cumin seeds, chopped onions and garlic cloves.
  4. Mix Veggie Oo Mugi Healthy And Tasty Barley
  5. Saute on a low flame, till the onions are golden and then add all the chopped veggies including mushroom and peas.
  6. Mix Veggie Oo Mugi Healthy And Tasty Barley
  7. Saute for 5 to 7 minutes on a low flame add salt, pepper and garam masala

  9. Gently let cook all the veggies till the salt and masala mixes well.
  10. Now take a bowl add the drained Oo Mugi Barley layer wise. One layer barley one layer cooked veggies (2-3 layers)
  11. Mix Veggie Oo Mugi Healthy And Tasty Barley
  12. Put butter, cover it and microwave for 10 – 15 minutes.
  13. Oo Mugi Barley is ready. Serve hot.
