Oo Mugi barley
about 250 grams (1 packet)

medium sized onion finely chopped
Half cup peas/matar
fresh or frozen
Half cup chopped french beans
chopped
Half cup chopped carrots
chopped into cubes
Half cup sliced or chopped mushrooms
Half cup chopped capsicum
chopped into cubes

oil or ghee

medium garlic cloves/lahsun

teaspoon
cumin seeds/jeera
Salt
Pepper and Garam Masala
Butter
Instructions
Soak the Oo Mugi barley in water for 1-2 hours. drain and keep the Oo Mugi barley rice aside.
Heat 3 tbsp ghee or oil in a pan add cumin seeds, chopped onions and garlic cloves.
Saute on a low flame, till the onions are golden and then add all the chopped veggies including mushroom and peas.
Saute for 5 to 7 minutes on a low flame add salt, pepper and garam masala
Gently let cook all the veggies till the salt and masala mixes well.
Now take a bowl add the drained Oo Mugi Barley layer wise. One layer barley one layer cooked veggies (2-3 layers)
Put butter, cover it and microwave for 10 – 15 minutes.
Oo Mugi Barley is ready. Serve hot.

Note: I don’t like tomatoes so I have not added
