  • barely grains 1 cup
  • boiled potato 1 large no.
  • finely chopped beans 2 tbsp
  • finely chopped carrot 2 tbsp
  • chopped coriander leaves 1 tbsp
  • chopped green chili 1 tbsp
  • cloves 2 nos
  • green cardamom 2 nos
  • bread crumbs 2 tbsp or as per required
  • Salt
  • red chili powder 1 tsp
  • lemon juice 2 tbsp
  • oil for frying


  • soak the barley for 4 hours, then boil with 1/2 tsp salt, cloves and green cardamom. cool discard the cardamom and clove wash it and keep aside.
  • boil the beans and carrot. grate the potato add boiled carrot, beans, barley, salt, coriander, green chili, red chili powder, lemon juice, bread crumbs and salt.
  • make the tikki deep fry them till golden and crispy. serve hot with green chutney.
