- Do not throw away the water in which the apricots were soaked. Also keep aside the almonds that we get after deseeding them. Meanwhile make a one string consistency sugar syrup on a medium high heat and set aside.
- Keep stirring the apricots in the pot every now and then and as soon as the water dries up to a large extent and has a nice sheen and gloss and get soft and tender, stir in the sugar syrup with the cardamom powder.
- Mix well and do not forget to add the lemon juice to it. This gives a lovely flavour to the dessert. Soak the almonds in hot water for a few minutes before peeling their skin off.
- Serve it warm or chilled with lots of fresh cream and the almonds that give it a real gorgeous look.
Recipe Notes
Adding lemon juice to it is my grand mom’s idea and it does give this dessert a lovely flavour. Sugar an ofcourse be used according to one’s own choice and preference. Making a syrup of it is important to give this dessert a nice sheen and gloss.
