  • 500 ml Milk whole milk can be substituted
  • 100 gm Jaggery or to taste, adjust according to your preference

Prepare the Milk

  • Reduce 500ml of full-cream milk in a deep pan over low heat until it is reduced by half. This will take approximately 20-25 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

Prepare the Custard Apple

  • Scoop out the pulp from 2 medium-sized custard apples (approximately 400g). Use a fork to remove the seeds, discarding them. Set the pulp aside.

Add Flavorings

  • Lightly crush 10 slivered almonds and 2 cardamom pods. Add the crushed almonds and cardamom to the reduced milk. Stir well to combine.

Incorporate Jaggery

  • Remove the pan from the heat. Add 100g of powdered jaggery to the warm milk. Stir continuously until the jaggery is completely dissolved.

Gently Combine with Custard Apple

  • Add the custard apple pulp to the milk mixture. Stir gently a few times to combine; avoid over-mixing. Do not boil the milk after adding the custard apple pulp.

Serve

  • Garnish with extra slivered almonds (optional) and serve warm or chilled.
