Aloo ka parantha is one of the most popular paratha from Puniab. This delicious aloo paratha is one of the most favorite breakfast of mine. Aloo Paratha is a delicious shallow fried Indian stuffed bread popular among all generations of people across length and breadth of India.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup + 1/2 cup Wheat Flour
  • 2 medium Potatoes boiled and peeled
  • 4 tablespoon finely chopped Coriander Leaves
  • 2 Green Chilli finely chopped
  • Salt
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • Oil for shallow fry

Instructions
 

  • First prepare dough by taking 1 cup wheat flour, 1 teaspoon oil and salt in a small bowl. Incrementally add water in small quantities and knead smooth and soft dough (like chapati dough). Grease its surface with 1/2 teaspoon oil, cover it with clean.
  • Now, prepare alu paratha stuffing. Take the boiled potatoes in a medium bowl and mash it until no chunks of potato. Add chopped green chillies, salt, red chilli powder, garam masala powder and coriander leaves.
  • Divide stuffing into 6 equal parts and give them a shape of ball. Divide prepared dough into 6 equal parts and give them a round shape and press a little to flatten like pattie.
  • Take 1/2 cup wheat flour for dusting. Take 1 dough pattie n coat it with dry wheat flour(it will prevent dough sticky to rolling board). Roll it on rolling board. Roll it out into a circle of approximately 4.5 inch diameter.
  • Wrap stuffing by lifting all the sides and seal the edges and again roll it gently.
  • Place it on tawa.cook over medium flame. Reduce flame to low flip it n again cook over medium flame. Apply ghee on both the sides. Repeat flip n press process until golden brown spots appear on both the sides.

Notes

Mash potatoes properly and weed out chunks, if any. This will help rolling out smoothly
 
Avoid green chillies if u r preparing for kids.
