Upma haters generally kids will start loving this kozhukattais made of Semolina/Rava with the flavours of ginger, green chillies and it becomes very healthy since made by adding veggies and very less oil is used.
These drooling kozhukattais can be served as breakfast or evening tiffin or dinner.

Ingredients
  

  • 250 gm Semolina Rava / Sooji (2 cups)
  • 2 tablespoon carrots finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoon beans finely chopped
  • 3 green chilies chopped
  • 3 teaspoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt or as per taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds for seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon urad dal for seasoning
  • 2-3 curry leaves
  • 1 teaspoon ginger finely chopped
  • 4 cups water finely chopped

Instructions
 

  • Heat a pan with oil. Do the seasoning with mustard seeds and urad dal. Once they splutter and the dal becomes brown add the curry leaves, green chillies, ginger, asafoetida powder and stir well.
  • Fry the chopped veggies for few seconds.Add the rava/sooji and keep frying in low flame for 3 minutes. Pour the water in to the pan and add the required salt.Stir the stuff till it becomes thick with out water and the rava is well cooked.

  • Transfer the stuff to a plate. Grease your palm with oil and make small balls out of the stuff. Keep them on a idli plate and steam them out for 10 minutes.
  • Now the drooling balls are ready to relish.
