Makar Sankranti is a major festival celebrate in various parts of India. In sri Jagannath temple at Puri this is observed as Uttaraya yatra and uttarrayan vandapana of lord Jagannath. People offer a special kind of newly harvested rice mixed with Jaggery, grated coconut, banana, chenna khoya, dry fruits, milk, grapes called' Makara Chaula' offered it to the gods.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Rice soak the rice 3 hours, then wash & drain
- 3 tablespoon Jaggery Noren Gudh
- 2 Cardamom
- 4 Cloves
- 10 Black pepper
- 5 Cashew
- 5 Raisin
- 6 Grapes
- 1/2 Apple remove the skin & chopped
- 1 Banana
- 3 tablespoon Coconut grated
- 1/2 cup Coconut milk
- 1 tablespoon Ghee
For garnish
- 8-10 Pomegranate seeds

Instructions
- In a mixer pour all of the above ingredients, mix thoroughly and grind it in a smooth paste.
- Garnish with pomegranate seeds & serve chilled.
