Vegan Pearl Millet, Sugarcane Cake (Eggless, Butter Less)

This is a yummy low fat cake recipe. When we r in the process of weight loss people like me vl definitely carve for some Sweet. So just to satisfy with a healthier version n with no saturated fat this cake can be consumed. As a healthier version this cake consist of pearl millet (Bajra) which is
Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 35 minutes
Total Time 50 minutes

  • Whole wheat 1/2 cup
  • Bajra/ pearl millet flour 1/4 cup
  • 1 &1/2 TSP baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 cup powdered palm jaggery
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 1/2 cup fresh sugarcane juice
  • 1/4 neutral oil
  • 1 tblsp vinegar or lime juice
  • 1/4 cup fresh mango Puree
  • Nuts optinol


  • Seive all the dry ingredients wheat flour, Bajra, b.p, b.s 3 times. Set aside.
  • In another bowl mix wet ingredients sugarcane juice, oil,mango Puree mix well. Add oil stir well. Now add vinegar n mix it.
  • Now gently add dry ingredients to wet ingredients n mix in one direction. Don't over mix it. Pour it in a well greased pan. If using nuts top the batter with it now. bake in preheated oven for 30 min
  • It depends on oven so please check after 20 min. If inserted toothpick comes out clean it is done.


  1. Pre heat the oven when u start the process.
  2. Seiveing the flour is important so don’t skip it
  3. Use fresh juice n puree to get best flavour
  4. Bake the cake as soon as the batter is ready
  5. Adding nuts is optional but it add a nice crunchy to the cake
