Medu Vada is a traditional South Indian dish. But it is famous all over India. Medu Vada is included in Street Food too.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cup urad dal soaked over night
  • 1 onion small, chopped
  • 1 green chili chopped
  • 1/2 bunch corriander leaves chopped
  • 5-6 curry leaves chopped
  • 1-2 tsp salt or as per taste
  • 1 tsp ginger finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper crushed
  • 1/4 tsp soda
  • 1/4 tsp hing
  • Oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • Drain the water of soaked uras dal. Put it in the mixer jar and grind it into fine batter. If required add water.
  • Now put this batter into mixing bowl. Next add chopped onion, green chilli, chopped ginger, curry leaves, corriander leaves.
  • Add cumin seeds, crushed black pepper, hing, salt to taste and soda. Mix them properly so that they are combined to each other.
  • Now heat the oil for frying. Wet your palms with water. Take vada mix, flatten it and make a whole in the centre.
  • Drop it in the heating oil. Deep fry from both the sides of the vadas. Keep the flame on medium.
  • When they turn brown and crispy, remove the vadas from the oil o the tissue paper so that excess o oil is absorbed.
  • Serve the Medu Vada with coconut chutney or Sambhar.
