About Rose Syrup

Roses have long held a cherished place in Ayurvedic medicine, celebrated for their role in skincare and natural detoxification. Infused with therapeutic benefits, rose petals can help relax the body, reduce stress, and even promote glowing skin, making this homemade Rose Syrup both a delicious and wholesome treat.
Rich in natural oils and sugars, rose petals help lock moisture into dry skin cells when consumed, adding a subtle floral note to your beverages. Remember to use only the petals—removing pistils and stamens ensures the best flavor and safety. You can also repurpose dried rose petals for soothing teas, creating a versatile experience that delights both palate and well-being.

Recipe Notes

Rose syrup is a good source for garnishing sweet and desserts.

Additional Tips

  • For a more intense rose flavor, allow the petals to steep in the syrup overnight before straining, then gently reheat if necessary to dissolve any remaining sugar.
  • If you wish to avoid artificial colorants, use a small amount of hibiscus petals or beetroot juice during simmering for a natural pink hue.
  • Store the finished syrup in sterilized glass bottles and refrigerate; it will keep for up to a month, but always use a clean spoon to prevent contamination.
  • Try adding a splash of rose syrup to lassi, lemonade, or milkshakes, or drizzle over desserts like phirni or kulfi for a unique floral twist.
