Handvo is the most common dish in Gujarati and Marwari household. It is a very easy and healthy recipe.

Ingredients
- 1 cup barley
- 1/3 cup chana dal
- 1 tablespoon moong dal
- 1 tablespoon urad dal
- 1/3 cup toor dal
- 3 tablespoon curd
- 1 cup bottle gourd grated
- 1/8 tablespoon turmeric
- 1/2 tablespoon red chili powder
- Salt as per taste
- 1/2 tablespoon sugar
- 3 tablespoon oil
- 1 tablespoon ginger garlic chili paste
- 1/8 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 1/8 tablespoon mustard seeds
- 3 red chilies dry
- 1 pinch asafetida

Instructions
- Soak barley in a bowl, separately soak chana dal, Moong Dal, Urad dal, toor dal together for 3 hrs.
- Grind above soaked barley and dals, Add curd, lauki, turmeric, chili powder, salt, sugar, oil, ginger chili paste to the ground dals and barley, let it rest for about 6 hrs.
- After 6 hours, Take a pan, add little oil, add mustard seeds, sesame seeds, hing, red chilies once it starts spluttering add batter(consistency should of idli or dhokla ).
- Cover the lid and let it cook on medium flame for around 8 mins. Flip the side very carefully and cook for another 5 minutes. After 5 minutes its ready to serve.
