Plattershare gave me this wonderful ingredient "OoMugi Barley" from GoIndiaOrganic under "Belly Nirvana" programme. My experience with this wonderful grain was great.Barley Upma is a perfect healthy and a quick breakfast recipe, i tried with this grain.leftover upma can be used in making various dishes as steamed wada,idli and soup.

Ingredients
- OoMugi Barley - 1 cup
- Chopped capsicum and carrot grated - 1/4 cup each
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- White Split Urad dal - 1 tbsp
- Roasted peanuts-handful
- Salt
- vegetable oil-2tsp
- Curry leaves - For garnishing
- lemon juice to taste

Instructions
- . Soak barley grains in -2 cups of water for-2 hours. Pressure cook with 2cups of water and salt for 10 minutes on low heat.
- In a pan, heat 1 tsp oil, splutter mustard seeds, add, curry leaves, Split Urad dal and till it turns brown. 3. Add all vegetables and salt as per the taste and cook for 2 minutes or till carrot is tender.
- Add cooked barley grains and mix well. Cover the pan and cook for3 minutes or until all water evaporates.
- Lastly squeeze lemon juice and serve hot. Garnish with curry leaves and Roasted peanuts before serving .
