- Chicken - 500 gms
- Basmati rice - 500 gms
- Coconut milk - 1 cup
- Star anise - 1
- Clove - 2 - 3
- Cinnamon - 1 inch stick
- Bay leaf - 1
- Mace paste - 1/4 tsp
- Nutmeg powder - 1/4 tsp
- Green cardamom - 2 - 3
- Lemon juice - 1 tsp
- Hung curd - 1/2 cup
- Sliced onion - 2 medium size
- Chopped tomato - 1 big size
- Red chilly powder - 1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Green chilly - 1 cut in slit
- Clarified butter - 4 tbsp
- Crushed mint leaves - 1 tbsp
- Curry leaves - 1 tbsp
- Green coriander leaves - 1 tbsp
- Salt - to taste

InstructionsÂ
- Marinate chicken with 1 tsp ginger garlic paste,turmeric powder,1 tsp red chilly powder,lemon juice,salt,hung curd and mix well
- Keep rest for half an hour.
- Take a pan/handi add clarified butter.
- Add cinnamon stick,star anise,bay leaf,cloves,green cardamom and fry it.
- Add sliced onion and saute for 2 - 3 m ins.
- Add 1 tsp ginger garlic paste,tomato,mace paste,nutmeg powder,1 tsp red chilly powder,green chilly and also add marinated chicken and mix well.
- Add crushed m int leaves,curry leaves,coconut milk,coriander leaves and mix well.
- Add 1 ltr of water and bring to boil.
- Add rice and salt and mix well.
- Cover and cook in a low flame til done the rice.
- Serve hot.
