Instructions

  • For the khoya, Mix the milk powder, milk and ghee together to form a paste. Heat this in a microwave for 3 minutes by stirring it once in every 30 seconds. This forms a thick Mawa.
  • For the coconut filling : Heat the coconut and sugar together in a nonstick pan. Cook for few minutes and add the khoya and the elaichi powder.
  • Cook till it forms a thick mixture which takes about 10 minutes. Keep aside.
  • Mix the ingredients mentioned under "for dough" to form a tight dough. Rest it for 10-15 minutes.
  • Make small round rotis out of the dough. Put little filling inside each roti and seal the ends using little water to form a half moon.
  • Heat lots of oil and deep fry the gujiyas on a low flame. Keep aside.
  • Make a sugar syrup of two string consistency. Cool it for few minutes. Dip the fried gujiyas into the sugar syrup and take them out. Serve.
