Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Cocoa Powder unsweetened
Wet Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Coconut Oil nutiva or similar brand, refined for a milder flavor. unrefined may add a coconut taste.
- 2 tbsp Honey kallas or similar pure honey. adjust to your preferred sweetness.
- 1/4 tsp Vanilla Extract enhances flavor, optional
- Pinch Salt sea salt, enhances the chocolate flavor
Instructions
Prepare the Chocolate Mixture
- Melt coconut oil in a heatproof bowl set over a pan of simmering water (double boiler), or in short bursts in the microwave. Stir occasionally to prevent scorching.
- Remove from heat and stir in honey, cocoa powder, vanilla extract and salt until completely smooth and well combined.
Chill and Shape
- Pour the chocolate mixture into a small, lined container or baking dish. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until completely firm.
- Once firm, scoop out rounded tablespoons of chocolate and roll into balls using your hands or a spoon.
Optional: Coating and Decoration
- If desired, roll the truffles in cocoa powder, chopped nuts, shredded coconut, or sprinkles.
- Refrigerate for another 30 minutes before serving to allow the coating to set.
