Additional Tips

  • For an extra boost of flavor and aroma, lightly toast the health mix powder in a dry pan on low heat before adding it to the mixture—this enhances the nuttiness and depth of the burfi.
  • If you prefer a firmer, less chewy texture, refrigerate the burfi mixture for 30 minutes before cutting into pieces; this makes slicing neater and helps the bars hold their shape longer during storage.
  • Customize the nut mix by adding roasted seeds like pumpkin or sunflower seeds for added crunch and nutrition, or swap in dried figs or apricots for a different natural sweetener profile.
  • To make this burfi vegan, use coconut oil instead of ghee, and ensure your health mix powder contains no milk powder or dairy-derived ingredients.
