Channa Dal Barfi (Janmashtami)

Janmashtami is our Indian festival. We always try to offer Lord Krishna various types of Prasad. This is one of those recipe. I hope Lord will be pleased.

  • 250 gms Channa dal soaked
  • 250 gms mawa
  • 200 gms condensed milk
  • 25 gms cashew nut paste
  • 25 gms almond paste
  • 200 gms ghee
  • 1 tsp green cardamom powder
  • 10-15 whole cashew nut to garnish


  • Make a paste of soaked salt. Take a frying pan heat add dal paste and ghee. Mix well and stir continuously.

  • When slowly water will dehydrate add mawa. It will be a smooth dough. Now add condensed milk, cashew nut paste, almond paste and green cardamom powder.

  • Now take a tray rub with ghee and set the barfi. After one hour cut into pieces and garnish with cashew nut.
  • Ready to offer Lord sri Krishna.


No need to add sugar because condensed milk is already sweet.
