Instructions

Prepare the Dough

  • Combine all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, softened butter, baking powder, lemon juice, powdered sugar, and salt in a large bowl. Gradually add water or milk, mixing until a soft, pliable dough forms. Knead for 5-7 minutes, then let it rest for 15 minutes.

Make the Filling

  • Heat olive oil in a pan. Add grated carrot, chopped cabbage, capsicum, and mashed potato. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until slightly softened. Stir in ginger paste, red chili powder, cinnamon, garam masala, mango powder, and salt. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat and let cool completely.

Assemble the Parathas

  • Roll out small portions of the dough into circles. Place a spoonful of the vegetable filling in the center. Fold the dough over the filling to create a semi-circle, then gently pinch the edges to seal. Shape the paratha into a fish, using a fork to create the tail and pressing slightly to flatten.

Decorate and Bake

  • Use black peppercorns for eyes and a small piece of red bell pepper for the mouth. Brush both sides of the fish-shaped paratha with melted butter. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Serve

  • Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
