About Dahi Ke Toast (Quick & Healthy)

Dahi ke toast was born out of a busy morning, when I craved something quick, healthy, and a bit different for breakfast. With just whole wheat bread, creamy curd, and a medley of colorful bell peppers, I whipped up these tangy, crunchy toasts—no deep frying needed, just a light brush of oil and a quick toast on the tawa. You can even make them in an air fryer, but I love the classic touch of the pan.
The result is a deliciously crisp toast, coated in spiced curd and packed with veggies, making for a vibrant and nutritious start to your day. It’s super easy, incredibly satisfying, and perfect for those mornings when you want to indulge in something wholesome without spending too much time in the kitchen. Give these dahi ke toasts a try—you’ll love every bite!

Instructions

  • Take curd in a bowl, whisk to make a smooth paste
  • Add semolina to it & keep for 5 mins
  • Now add all the veges in the mixture with salt, add some water if you see the paste is so dry or thick
  • Now cut each bread slice in 4 squares
  • Put them in the mixture one by one & coat them well with veges
  • Meanwhile heat the pan & brush some olive oil on it.
  • Now place the toast one by one on the pan
  • Flip to check for golden brown color on both side.
  • Now sprinkle some oregano & black pepper
  • Serve hot with your choice of sauce or just grab it as it is.

Recipe Notes

  • You can skip the mentioned veges & and can add your choice of vegetables

Additional Tips

  • To prevent the bread from becoming soggy, lightly toast the slices on both sides before spreading the yogurt mixture—this creates a barrier and helps the toast stay crisp even after adding the topping.
  • If you’d like a vegan version, use thick coconut yogurt or cashew yogurt in place of dairy yogurt; both provide a creamy texture and a mild tang that works beautifully with the spiced vegetables.
  • For extra flavor, mix a pinch of chaat masala or roasted cumin powder into the yogurt mixture before spreading it on the bread—this enhances the tangy and savory notes of the toast.
  • These toasts taste best fresh, but if making ahead, keep the yogurt mixture and bread separate—assemble and toast just before serving to maintain the perfect texture and crunch.
