Easy Cinnamon Flavoured Doughnuts

This recipe of cinnamon flavoured doughnuts uses a batter instead of the usual dough to make doughnuts. Doughnuts can be baked or fried according to choice. Doughnuts can be made easily at home and serve as a quick indulgence.

Ingredients
- All purpose flour - 180 g
- Milk - 100 ml
- Egg - 1 beaten
- Sugar - 20 g
- Active dry yeast - 2.5 g
- Butter - 20 g
- Oil to fry the doughnuts
- Powdered cinnamon and sugar to coat the doughnuts
- Salt - 1/2 tsp

Instructions
- Take 2 tbsp of warm water with 1 tsp of sugar and add the yeast to it and stir well. Cover and let stand for 10 minutes. The mixture will turn frothy.
- Take the milk in a saucepan and warm it slightly. Add the butter and melt it completely by mixing well. Now add the sugar, beaten egg and yeast mixture to it. Mix well.
- Take the flour in a wide bottomed vessel. Add the milk mixture to it and make a thick batter like that of vadas. Cover with a cloth and let it stand for 1-2 hours.
- Once the batter has doubled in size, mix it lightly and keep aside.
- Heat the oil in a frying pan and drop small balls of batter in it. Cook on a low flame till they turn brown and are fully cooked.
- Roll the hot doughnuts in the cinnamon sugar mixture and enjoy with hot coffee.
Notes
The batter should be thick.
