Red Bean Burger With Kimchi, Rucola And Avocado

Beans are to vegans what meat is to non-vegetarians. Hence it is no surprise that a vegetarian burger is constituted with these flavorsome red beans.
The addition of some smart seasoning and interesting textures is what is needed to transform these meat-substitute burgers into something extra-ordinarily delicious.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cup red beans boiled
  • 2 teaspoon flax egg
  • 2 teaspoon onions caramelized
  • 2 garlic cloves finely minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon soya sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili sauce
  • 2 teaspoon oil
  • 2 tbsp kimchi
  • avocado slices
  • rucola or lettuce leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Burger buns

Instructions
 

  • Take the boiled beans, caramelized onions, minced garlic, soya sauce, red chili sauce, flax eggs and salt in a mixing bowl.
  • Mix everything together and divide into 2-3 portions. Shape each portion into a round patty.
  • Heat a skillet. Add 2-3 tsp oil to it.
  • Add the burger patties and fry on each side for 3-4 mins or till a crisp layer develops.

For assembling the burger

  • Place the avocado slices and rucola over a bun.
  • Top it with a burger patty, spread some kimchi over it and close it with another bun.. Serve

Notes

For the flag egg – Powder 2-3 tsp flaxseeds in a grinder. Mix with 2-3 tbsp water and let it stand for 20-25 mins .

  1. I dont understand the necessity of adding flax eggs.. Without adding it too the patty can be made.. for binding. Boiled potato or all purpose flour or rice flour or flattened rice can be added.. Which will give crispy outer layer to the patty. Are theburger buns used are vegan? 5 stars
