Ingredients
For the Mint-Chili Paste
- 1 cup Mint Leaves fresh, tightly packed
- 1-2 Chili adjust to your spice preference, green
- 1 inch Ginger
For the Chaas
- 1 1/2 cup Yogurt full-fat recommended, thick and chilled
- 1/4 tsp Chaat Masala or to taste
- 1/2 - 3/4 tsp Salt adjust to taste
- 1/2 cup Water or more, to reach desired consistency
Instructions
Prepare the Mint-Chili Paste
- Wash and roughly chop the mint leaves, green chili, and ginger.
- Combine the mint, chili, and ginger in a blender or food processor. Add a small amount (about 1/4 cup) of the yogurt to help it blend smoothly.
- Blend until a smooth paste forms.
Make the Chaas
- In a large jar or blender, combine the remaining yogurt, salt, and chaat masala.
- Add the mint-chili paste to the yogurt mixture.
- Add cold water gradually, blending until you reach your desired consistency (it should be slightly thin).
- For a frothier chaas, blend for about 45-60 seconds.
Serve
- Pour the Mint Chaas into glasses filled with ice.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves and a sprinkle of chaat masala, if desired.
