Ingredients
Dairy & Liquids
- 250 gm Yogurt plain, full-fat yogurt (also known as curd)
- 125 ml Buttermilk
Spices & Herbs
- 1 tbsp Coriander fresh cilantro leaves (also known as dhania); mint or a mint-cilantro blend can be substituted.
- 1 tbsp Cumin Seeds dry roasted cumin seeds (also known as roasted jeera)
Seasoning
- 1.5 tsp Salt or to taste
- 1/2 tsp Pepper freshly ground, black, optional
- 1/4 tsp Chili Powder optional, adjust to taste
Instructions
Prepare the Ingredients
- Wash and finely chop the cilantro.
- Dry roast the cumin seeds in a small pan until fragrant. Let them cool, then coarsely grind them using a mortar and pestle or spice grinder.
Blend the Chaas
- Combine the yogurt, buttermilk, cilantro, roasted cumin powder, salt, black pepper (if using) and chili powder (if using) in a blender.
- Blend until smooth and creamy.
Serve
- Pour the Masala Chaas into serving glasses filled with ice.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves and a pinch of roasted cumin powder (optional).
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
