Ingredients
 

For the Lassi

  • 1 cup Yogurt greek yogurt or full-fat plain yogurt recommended for a creamier lassi. also known as curd or dahi.
  • 1 Cucumber peeled and roughly chopped, approximately 1 medium-sized cucumber.
  • 1/2 cup Mint Leaves fresh mint leaves, loosely packed.
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds dry roasted and ground for a richer flavor.
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper freshly ground black pepper, black, for a subtle kick.
  • 1/2 tsp Rock Salt or sea salt, adjust to taste. start with less and add more as needed.
  • 1/2 cup Water to adjust consistency. add more for a thinner lassi.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Peel and roughly chop the cucumber. Wash and roughly chop the mint leaves. Dry roast the cumin seeds in a pan until fragrant, then grind them into a powder.

Blending

  • Combine the yogurt, cucumber, mint leaves, cumin powder, black pepper, and salt in a blender.
  • Add 1/2 cup of water. Blend until completely smooth and creamy. Add more water if needed to reach your desired consistency.

Serving

  • Pour the lassi into glasses filled with ice. Garnish with fresh mint leaves (optional) and serve immediately. Enjoy!

  • For a sweeter lassi, add a teaspoon or two of honey or sugar to taste.
