Recipe Notes
Additional Tips
- For softer parathas, add a few tablespoons of plain yogurt or a splash of milk to the dough while kneading; this also imparts a subtle tang that complements the fenugreek flavor.
- If fresh fenugreek leaves are unavailable, substitute with dried kasuri methi—crush it lightly between your palms before mixing into the dough, but use half the quantity as it is more concentrated in flavor.
- To enhance the spice profile, try adding a pinch of ajwain (carom seeds) or crushed fennel seeds to the dough; both aid digestion and introduce a unique aroma.
- Leftover parathas can be wrapped in a clean kitchen towel and stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 8 hours, or refrigerated for up to two days—reheat on a skillet for best texture.
