Jackfruit halwa/ Chakka varattiyatu is a traditional jackfruit dish of Kerala. Riped jackfruits and jaggery are the main ingredients for making this delicious recipe. Jackfruit is highly beneficial for the health as it is loaded with vitamin A, vitamin C, calcium, potassium, thiamine, iron, niacin, riboflavin, selenium, zinc, copper, magnesium, fatty acids etc. It boosts immune system functions and helps to prevent from seasonal diseases

Ingredients
- 500 gm Jackfruit ripe, chakka
- 250 gm Jaggery powder organic
- 40 gm Ghee
- 1 teaspoon Cardamom powder

Instructions
- Mince/Grind the jackfruit pieces in a blender.
- Take a thick bottomed pan and heat jaggery and little water to make thick syrup. Strain this mixture once dissolved. Add the minced jackfruit and keep stirring continuously till the mixture thicknesses becomes dark. Add the cardamom powder and stir
- Add ghee when the halwa starts to get thicken. At a stage it will leave the sides of the kadai like a halwa. When the mixture can be rolled into a ball, put the contents into a greased dish. Smoothen the top surface with a spoon.
- When the jackfruit halwa has cooled down, cut into pieces and serve. Store in airtight containers.
