Prepare the Oats

  • Dry roast 1 cup of rolled oats in a pan over medium heat until lightly golden. Allow to cool completely.
  • Then, grind the roasted oats into a fine flour using a blender.

Combine Ingredients

  • In a heavy-bottomed pan, combine 1 cup of desiccated coconut and 1 cup of granulated sugar.
  • Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely and the mixture is slightly sticky.

Add Flavor and Nuts

  • Reduce heat to low. Add 1/4 teaspoon of cardamom powder and stir well.
  • Add the ground oat flour, 10 chopped almonds, and 10 chopped cashews. Mix thoroughly to combine all ingredients.

Finish and Shape

  • Remove from heat and stir in 1 tablespoon of ghee. Mix well until the ghee is evenly distributed.
  • Let the mixture cool for 7-8 minutes, or until it's slightly firm to the touch but still pliable.
  • Shape the mixture into small, lemon-sized balls (ladoos).

Cool and Serve

  • Place the ladoos on a plate and allow them to cool completely.
  • Once cooled, store the ladoos in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3-4 days.
