  • Wash the taro root thoroughly. Boil until tender. This ensures the taro root cooks evenly and becomes soft enough to grate.

  • Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter. This adds a nutty flavor and aroma to the dish. Then, add poppy seeds and grated coconut, sautéing briefly until fragrant.

  • Add the grated taro root, turmeric powder, chili powder, and salt to the pan. Sauté for a few minutes until the spices are well combined and the taro root is heated through.
