Ingredients
Green Chana
- 1 bowl Gram fresh, green
Flavor & Sweetener
- 2 tbsp Clarified Butter homemade
- ½ cup Coconut Milk thick
- ½ tsp Cardamom ground
- Sugar or jaggery, to taste
Instructions
- Wash the fresh green gram thoroughly under running water. Peel off the outer skins.
- Roughly grind the peeled green gram into a coarse paste using a food processor or blender. A slightly coarse texture adds a pleasant bite to the dessert.
- Heat the ghee in a pan over medium heat. Add the green gram paste and stir continuously. The ghee adds richness and flavor.
- Reduce the heat to low. Add the ground cardamom, sugar (or jaggery) to taste, and the thick coconut milk. Stir constantly until the mixture thickens and starts to pull away from the sides of the pan. This indicates that the dessert is cooked through.
- Transfer the chana mixture to a serving dish or individual molds. Allow it to cool slightly before garnishing as desired. Serve warm or chilled.
